Unless the scholarship has changed, Romans is considered Paul's special letter. He knew he was writing to the seat of the Roman Empire. Someone else founded the Roman Church. It is his longest letter (I believe). It most likely in genuine Paul.

Did Paul really write: I do not do the good I want to do, . What a miserable man I am?
by Pinku inwhose thoughts are expressed in romans?
gods, pauls, recorders, or of some interpolators?
(romans 1:5) how can he do that if he himself is not obedient, a miserable man?

Questions From Readers : Did Jesus preach to the dead people of Noah's days?
by raymond frantz insorry guys i posted that the other day but with some of the actual post missing ,here it is again .please feel free to find errors, raise questions or fill me in with any more valueable information on the matter .i don't claim to know it all i'm just someone who's constantly looking for answers as most of you here :.
did jesus preach to the dead souls of people from noahs days?what does 1 peter 3:19, 20 mean?
in this state [in the spirit, following his resurrection] also he [jesus] went his way and preached to the spirits in prison, who had once been disobedient when the patience of god was waiting in noahs days, while the ark was being constructed, in which a few people, that is, eight souls [souls, kj, dy; people, tev, jb; persons, rs], were carried safely through the water.

I was not there so I don't. As I mentioned before, the Apostles Creed said Jesus went down to hell.

Islam is not a bad religion. Why must the WT speak out? I can't recall the Witnesses ever speaking out for justice. Do you think ISIS will stop if the WT speaks out. Remember with their theology, there is no difference between ISIS and western democracies. All I heard were about the concentration camp JWs, never about Jews, gays, the disabled, gypsies, etc.

The government should TAX the WT for the social services spent on JW's.
by EndofMysteries insince there is an abundant supply of literature where the gb tell members not to get education, not to plan for retirement, not to worry about their health, all vs doing more literature peddling, perhaps the government should stick a monthly bill to the wt for the social services, retirement, welfare, medicaid, etc, that is being spent on members because of their insisting that they don't take care of themselves and plan for the future.
.
how quickly would 'new light' come that each member should plan for retirement, should get good schooling, etc??

Taxing religion is NOT coming down the pipe here in America. There is the First Amendment. Politically, it is completely unfeasable. There are many red electoral states. This is a very religious country, not by structure or law, but by character. It would present Establishment Clause problems. Five thousand years from now it may be coming down the pipe. Of course, the pipe is not where we pass laws. Once you know reality, you may be able to impact it.

Well, government will never tax them so they will not change. It would be a blatant First Amendment violation. One would need to stage a coup d'etat. They have a right to say no to education. I would rather self pay any day. Witnesses have a sweet tooth for govt. benefits. It is the price of freedom.

by Sol Reform inlillian gobitas klose, the jehovahs witness who refused in 1935 to salute the american flag in minersville, pa. started a trail that ultimately changed american legal history died aug. 22 at age 90. only three years after it had ruled against the gobitas family, the supreme court voted 6-3 to overturn that decision in a case involving a family of jehovahs witnesses from west virginia.. regardless of what one might think of jehovahs witnesses, lillian gobitas is an example of a person whose willingness to fight for her beliefs has expanded everyones personal freedoms.. http://republicanherald.com/news/minersville-girl-made-legal-history-1.1744279.

The martyrdoms were similar to those in Henry VIII time. He was a Roman Catholic by sensibility and belief. The prayer book stayed the same as before but now it was written in English. It is used to this day in certain parishes. Luther was a real threat to him. Quite a few of his court favorites were Protestants. He looked the other way for these people. Others were executed.

Do you like the people in the Bible?
by Dis-Member inthe society always speaks about all the wonderful people and characters in the bible.. they always too speak of many of them as being so humble, faithful, loyal, diligent, loving, kind, wise, merciful etc, and worthy of imitation.
also of how god blessed them followed by endless examples and reasons why we today should imitate them.. .
they also speak of how wonderful it would be to meet some of these people in the future 'new system' and have often depicted scenes where the the survivors of armageddon would be gathered around some ancient resurrected faithful asking them questions and listening to their stories of times past.

I like Jesus most of all. Thomas would be next. Judas would make a great conversation.

Is Faith Immoral?
by Coded Logic inwhen people willfully believe something without evidence, or contrary to evidence, are they neglecting thier moral responsibility?
so many people say faith is a virtue but i just can't comprehend why anyone would think that.

No one is choosing a lesser path. Most people don't read newspaper, magazines, etc. Books are forbidden. I see them in a Christian book store. They have no self confidence that they can read and interpret the simplest Bible verse on their own. They depend on their pastors who are not well informed.

I don't trust the Judas accounts. The later church is projecting its Judas teachings onto the historical Judas. It is the fast track to later antiSemitism. He had positions of responsibility. I would completely agree with him about money going to the poor.
